Mad Max
Created by George Miller in 1979, the Mad Max saga redefined post-apocalyptic and action cinema. The first film, starring Mel Gibson, depicted a near future where society collapses under violence and energy shortages. With Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior (1981) and Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome (1985), the universe expanded into a desert wasteland ruled by motorized gangs, becoming a major visual and narrative reference for the genre.
After three decades of absence, George Miller revived the franchise with Mad Max: Fury Road (2015), a globally acclaimed masterpiece that modernized the mythology while keeping its core themes of survival, chaos, and freedom. The film also introduced the iconic character Furiosa (Charlize Theron), who in 2024 received her own prequel, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.
With its breathtaking action, distinctive visual identity, and underlying social commentary, Mad Max stands as an essential saga that has influenced and thrilled generations of audiences.
